Journal Entry #1 - First Newpapers

When looking at the first ever newspaper and comparing it to the ones you see today, they are very different but also look similar. First off, the way 'Publick' is spelt, and there is no pictures or bold headings. The pages looks quit similar to the ones we look at and read about now.

No, I do not think the government should have that much control over what news should be. To me, the news is about something important. Sometimes the government doesn't always want us to see the truth but it has to be seen sometime.

I think it is critical to the government, businesses and etc. because we need to see the real side of those things. It is not all the time people want to hear about their favorite store or restaurant has wrong with it or how your local Mayor did something very wrong but it is bound to happen. People see it as how bad it is, I see how real it is. I believe that the people who buy and support the newspapers help from getting the paper shut down when there is something about the government in them and they do not want the public to see it. People need to see the real side of things and organizations.

No, I was not surprised that the first newspaper was published in Halifax. I was not surprised because Halifax is the capital and there was probably a lot of people around to support it.
