Journalism #8 - Facing Fake News

Fake News
I believe the photo about the flower is true because u have actually seen one of this before. Also, I checked it out online on an official site and it stated that the photo could possibly be real. This site said that radiation could be the reason but we are not 100% sure. So, in the end, I think this photo could be true.

Yellow Journalism
When the Spanish American Warn happened, it was often called the "media war" because it was the first one. This war happened in the 1980's when journalism sensationalized. This was the first press driven war even though some say a certain guy started the war but the press did have a lot to do with it.

Satire News
Satire News is not fake news. Comedy news otherwise known as satire news is when to hear something on TV or any other device and they are making fun of someone like Donald Trump or any other celebrity. This is a form of irony, humor or exaggeration to make fun of something this person said or done.

Dangers Of Fake News
Fake News can be really dangerous. You see a lot of stuff on Facebook about Click Baits, they make it look really interesting and exciting so people will share it but in the end its not really true! After a long time, people are finally realizing the different between real and fake news.

Spotting Fake News
Some tips to figure out if the news is fake or not is if its all in caps or if it looks obvious that its photo shopped. Another way is to let your gut figure out if its true or not, if you think that the story is fake and no way in the world it could be true, its likely fake. Also, if there is a lot of pop ups, there is a very high chance that it is linked to Click Baits and its fake news.
